My name is Karen Schick and I am a Cancer Exercise Specialist, Personal Trainer and Yoga Instructor. I'm also a breast cancer survivor who has nursed several injuries over the years so I know first hand how challenging exercise can be while recovering from an illness or injury. Truth is, it can be downright daunting with questions like:
Bottom line. Physical activity and exercise is important and illness or injury doesn’t change this but what you do and how you do it matters.
As a certified Cancer Exercise Specialist & Yoga Instructor I create safe and effective programs that align specifically with your unique needs and goals. From diagnosis, treatment, recovery and beyond I can help rebuild your strength, reclaim your power and rediscover your stride.

BENEFITS OF EXERCISE
CANCER SOCIETY RECOMMENDATIONS: (American Cancer Society Exercise Guidelines)
STRENGTH TRAINING
Functional movement and weight bearing exercises. Clients generally feel more invigorated at the end of a strength training session.
YOGA
Physical postures (asana), breathing techniques (pranayama) and meditation along with various props (yoga blocks, chairs, blankets, pillows) to help find ease and balance. Students generally feel more relaxed and grounded at the end of a yoga session.
CANCER EXERCISE
A combination of strength training and yoga that align with your current treatment plan, side effects, preferences and goals.
WEDNESDAY MORNING WELLNESS WALK
Get some steps in! Sessions include gentle stretching & lymphatic drainage exercises.

CUSTOMIZED EXERCISE PLANS
I create 4-6 week exercise programs that you do on your own. Programs include occasional zoom sessions to ensure proper body mechanics and movement.
